summer of progress

The girls have been busy all summer, doing things I've already blogged about, and some things I haven't. But this summer will be memorable for two main reasons:

Erin has been experimenting with training wheels off occasionally for years, but only for a few minutes at a time. The other day I took the girls and their bikes and a wrench to the park. Erin requested her wheels off and I did the typical holding her seat and running along side of her for just a minute or two before she took off and rode all on her own.

And finally, finally, finally, I can say that the girls are all actually, really swimming. Lessons this summer combined with that wonderful birthday weekend/kids swim camp at my friend's house, and as many extra swimming opportunities as we've been able to squeeze in these past few weeks have resulted in undeniable results.

We are headed to a wonderful resort in Hawaii this December along with all of John's extended family. The resort has several beautiful pools of all sizes to enjoy, and it's clear that this time around the girls will really be able to enjoy them.

I have officially seen John topless on the Internet more than any other person I know.

Is he considering a new career as the new Old Spice man??? ;-). :-).
